Gallimore, Margaret

Nurse Margaret Gallimore of Dallas TX rented the house next door to her own and opened it as Mathis House, a non-profit home for people with AIDS. Gallimore takes the people others don't—the alcoholics, the demented, the ex-cons. She and her family cook and clean and care for them, charging according to each "boarder's" ability to pay, which is often nothing. Gallimore takes on extra home-nursing jobs in the community when she needs more money to run Mathis.
